Common questions
My workouts show but no heart data appears — what’s wrong?
Heart Data Exporter can only read data you have granted access to. In the iOS Settings app, go to Health → Data Access & Devices → Heart Data Exporter and make sure the heart data types are turned on. HealthKit never tells an app which permissions you granted, so if a metric looks empty, this is the first thing to check.
Why is a metric showing “no data”?
Either that data type has no readings in Apple Health for the chosen date range, or read access to it is off (see above). The app deliberately shows absent metrics as “no data” rather than inventing a zero.
Does it work in the iOS Simulator?
No — Apple Health has no data in the Simulator, so heart-data queries return nothing there. Use a physical iPhone with real Apple Health data.
Where do my exported files go, and are they uploaded?
Exports are generated on your iPhone and handed to the standard iOS share sheet. Nothing is uploaded. You choose whether to save to Files, AirDrop, email, or open the file elsewhere.
Can I export data recorded by apps other than Apple’s?
Yes. Apple Health stores readings from many sources; Heart Data Exporter reads whatever heart data is present and preserves each reading’s source.
How do I get help?
